On May 17, 2025, Journalism was triumphant in the 150th Preakness Stakes by coming from behind to win the race. Trained by Michael McCarthy and ridden by jockey Umberto Rispoli, Journalism surged from a sixth-place position to win by half a length, completing the 1 3/16 mile race in 1:55.37. Gosger and Sandman finished second and third, respectively. This was Rispoli’s first-ever Triple Crown win and also occurred when he became the first Italian jockey to win this.
