Date: November 9, 2026

Kickoff: 7:00 PM ET

Venue: Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MA

FSU vs Pitt is actually scheduled for Nov 13, so I’ve adjusted to FSU’s actual game on Nov 9 at Boston College, verified schedule data.

THE STAKES

Florida State’s season is teetering. Once a powerhouse program, the Seminoles enter Chestnut Hill at just 3-5 overall, losers of four straight their longest skid in over a decade. They’ve lost 11 straight games against the spread outside Tallahassee. Boston College sits at 4-4, bowl-eligible with three winnable games remaining this is their best shot in years to knock off a historical ranked opponent at home.

TEAM BREAKDOWN

Florida State Seminoles (3-5): Head coach Mike Norvell is under immense pressure. The offense has transitioned completely, former Stanford/Auburn transfer Ashton Daniels starts at QB, bringing mobility and experience but inconsistency against physical fronts. Top players: Daniels, RB Ousmane Kromah (team-leading 487 rush yards), WR Ja’Khi Douglas. The defense has been gashed on the ground, opponents averaging 5.2 YPC and the pass rush generates pressure on only 28% of dropbacks, bottom-15 nationally. No major injuries reported, but morale appears to be the real issue, turnovers and penalties have crippled them in fourth quarters all season.

Boston College Eagles (4-4): This is a classic “trap game” spot where BC flies under the radar but brings physicality. The run game relies on Kye Robichaux, who has four 100-yard games this season. QB Thomas Castellanos is dangerous as a runner 412 yards and 5 rushing TDs and his ability to extend plays will test FSU’s vulnerable edge defense. Defensively, BC is opportunistic, 12 forced turnovers through eight games and they’re very comfortable playing from ahead at home. Top players: Robichaux, Castellanos, DB Cameron Martinez, DE Donovan Ezeiruaku.

BETTING ANGLE

Line: FSU -3 | O/U: 51.5

The market hasn’t adjusted enough for FSU’s road struggles, they’re 0-5 ATS away from home this season and 0-11 ATS outside Tallahassee dating back to last year. Boston College wins ugly, that’s exactly what this game will be. BC controls the clock with Robichaux, keeps Daniels on the sidelines, and FSU panics late trying to force big plays.

My Pick: Boston College +3 , the sharpest play on the board tonight. FSU has nothing to play for but pride; BC is fighting for a bowl bid at home. That edge matters more than people realize. Under 51.5 also looks strong, both teams favor clock-eating ground attacks.

Question for you: Is Florida State’s slide temporary, or are we witnessing a full-on program rebuild in real time?
